Venice was one of the first planned communities, designed by the famous city planner, John Nolen. Today it retains the charm of Nolen’s innovative vision, with its Northern Italian Renaissance architecture, beaches along the blue-green waters of the Gulf, numerous parks, and an abundance of natural beauty. The walkable city was built by the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers in the 1920s and is known as the Shark’s Tooth Capital of the World. Unique shops and restaurants highlight the downtown, which recently underwent a year-long beautification. Venice is a vibrant, charming, historic community in which to live, learn, work and play.
